Ooh, I see him, I see him! I also see where and why some would like to see the bottom third and left third cropped. Would work, from a technical standpoint, but would also take the
posthumous-ness from the shot. And that would never do.
The lighting and glare is a teeny bit strong but also helps to illuminate the face. Can't argue with the settings, though someone I know would say to put the camera on a tripod, stop waayyyyy down and shoot for 30 seconds or some such tomfoolery :-) The bar is a little distracting but honestly, I only noticed it cause others mentioned it. Composition daring as he is almost leaning out of frame, but makes the shot all the more interesting imho.
Artistically, a lovely and fun piece of work and very well done, lighting up the angles and planes of the face and catching a hunched-over, studious pose. Not sure if I see him peering into his childhood per se, but I see him peering into something and boy does he look pissed!
Great work, you really do deserve a posty blue for this.
