oomby posthumousComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: The technique you've deployed here certainly leads the eye to your subject. I like how the subject is somewhat ambiguous - with the head lost in shadow, cow-like but with a slight oddness.
Critical stuff: The brevity of the section above has probably already given you a clue that I'm not a fan of this image. I'm a fan of blur and of Lensbaby work (the blur pattern is very Lensbaby-ish) but here it just seems to be used gratuitously.
Overall: I like that you've made some bold choices here, but they aren't one that work for this viewer. |

oomby posthumousComment by bohemka: My knowledge of science tells me he didn't bend time to get there, or cause disturbances in the atmosphere. What's left is an interestingly constructed photo, and I'll go with that. Great composition. Wonderful movement everywhere but the key point(s) of your subject. Nice how the bottom right seems to rotate yet the left and top fades out.
My one complaint would be tonal range. I see black, white, and one version of gray. Maybe on purpose, but I think it'd be improved with a more varied range of tones. And I'd bet this would look awesome in a wide frame, preferably over a bar. Very cool photo. |

El Fenestroby posthumousComment by LevT: discovering a face wrapped in a headscarf here is gratifying (but I see a woman's face, so it would be La Fenestra for me :)). Nicely seen!
