The title really drives this for me on multiple levels. A really interesting setting. I'm truly unsure how it came to be, but in my mind there was a serious crash and burn. It's amazing what you've constructed out of shards and a seemingly slight overlay. Even if the placement of the shards isn't random, it sure looks as if it is, a tough trick in itself.
