Nice setup. I actually like the lighting choice here. The side/back lighting gives a nice depth to the subjects. I like how the mushrooms slowly loose depth in the photo, though I might have preferred the foreground to be within the focused depth. Minor thing. The reflection is wonderful. I had a background window screen once, and got beaten down for it, but here I think it is subtle and works well. Nice image.

I doubt many would have stopped long enough to give a DNMC because of a mushroom. I think that takes too long of a pause when voting to register, and we all know how click happy us voters can be.

Don, you are always counted upon to be original. Although I admit I'm not wild about part of the foreground (lighting is too harsh IMO), I think the background is brilliant.

Don, you did a great job with the focus and the bokeh. I think this would have been a lot better with a black background instead of the reflection. JMO.

very nice image, don. the texture of the reflection is truly lovey, painterly and subtle. yet again, quiet and superb. well done.

I like the composition and lighting... there's a busy background but the lighting/composition draw my eye towards the subject, so the background adds interest without really competing.

Makes me FEEL. I think of my childhood in Nova Scotia. My dad had a love of exploring old abandoned buildings and farms. I can smell their old musty smells. This image also makes me think of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. The technical part is way beyond my ability.

Ooooh, I find this photo very interesting. I would have given it decent marks had I voted (sorry!) I really like the way the lights on the car in front seem to be melting in an almost Dali-esque fashion. Mainly I think it is a good photo because the eye is instantly drawn to the brightest area (the "melty" lights) and then have a chance to take everything in. Not a very DPC-friendly photo, but some of my favorites aren't frankly very DPC-friendly. Great job.
