Slight crop off the right (to the door line), slight crop off left (remove headlight) and a bunch off the sky (back to 4x6 format) that is all I would change to this photo. A ton of character in this one. I love how everything is perfectly in focus except for UncleSam. Creative idea and superb title.

I agree with Catherine, I like the title. I also like that he is looking away from the frame, at something we can't see - it gives the photo some history and much interest. I also wonder how it would look like in colors? all those colorful stripes on his clothes and those balloons would probably have made the "messy", busy composition even more busy - and it's nice. there is something interesting and fascinating about the composition and so many things there at the same time. his expression and pose make that messy look even stronger - that's great!

Well, this is "a wall". And, I suppose you are trying to phonetically relate the acronym AWOL (absent without official leave, a military term) to your photo. Either I don't get it, or it doesn't work for me.

way too much sky, but main problem is that the guy should be in focus with perhaps the stuff in the background slightly OOF so that he stands out. getting closer would have helped immensely as well.

Focus definitely grabbed the wrong subject here.. hitting on the background. Also, just a little too much going on here, composition isn't extremely strong, having no real point of interest.... etc. etc. etc.

Make sure in the future that your camera's focus selector is either on center, or if you can only use multi-point, that it is grabbing the correct subject. Get in closer when you can, isolate your subject more, and give us.. the viewer.. something we can get interested in.

A very minor point as well.. that title method is a little distracting.
