U N C L E S A M W A N T S U Vby posthumousComment by shutterpuppy: way too much sky, but main problem is that the guy should be in focus with perhaps the stuff in the background slightly OOF so that he stands out. getting closer would have helped immensely as well. |

U N C L E S A M W A N T S U Vby posthumousComment by Artyste: Focus definitely grabbed the wrong subject here.. hitting on the background. Also, just a little too much going on here, composition isn't extremely strong, having no real point of interest.... etc. etc. etc.
Make sure in the future that your camera's focus selector is either on center, or if you can only use multi-point, that it is grabbing the correct subject. Get in closer when you can, isolate your subject more, and give us.. the viewer.. something we can get interested in.
A very minor point as well.. that title method is a little distracting. |

Freezes the Heartby posthumousComment by J-Me: Lovely capture, but I'm not seeing the immediate connection to hate in it unless I read the title and really think about it. |

Freezes the Heartby posthumousComment by Puckzzz: there's too much dirt (thingies) next to te object (sorry can't seem to find the right words..twig?? ) and I do get what you're saying but wouldn't it have been better to use a heartshaped object in this title? |

U N C L E S A M W A N T S U Vby posthumousComment by manish: I wonder if it would have looked much more vibrant in color as you have baloons, cars and signages all going for it. The focus seems to be a lil wayward on the car rather than uncle sam but a good composition nonetheless |

Gazing upon our own reflectionby posthumousComment by loseme: *Critique Club*
Wow I guess voters really did pick up on the mushroom not being a vegetable. I really didn't even think about that when I was voting. But based on the comments I wonder if people really didn't vote as high because of this.
"Gazing upon our own reflection" is a good entry into the Fruit and Vegetable Challenge, heck all the mushrooms I buy are in the produce department. I really think your lighting allows this image to stand out. The lighting really gives us more depth to the focal point. I also really like the placement of the focus, not a typical shot, very nice. I think your choice for the background is awesome because it really is something different. I am not sure if you used the screen for lighting purposes but it really adds a nice feature to the shot.
Overall I think this is a very strong shot, maybe the score would have been a little higher is the challenge was something like The Produce Section, or Mushrooms. Very nice work as usual.
