bad poetryby posthumousComment by Judi: A little too much noise through high ISO...and too much darkness for the image...but the emotion is strong. |

bad poetryby posthumousComment by jblaylockrayner: I like the feel to this - Wish the guy on the left was totally cropped out as it makes for a really interesting composition that way. |

Penn & Tellerby posthumousComment by purpleflutterby13: Hmm, you know, your shots somehow make more sense to me after that brief glance at the philosophy behind them. The world is interesting, you drift along, go with strange angles and harmonies of shapes, and end up with shots like these. Great picture - wonderful spontaneous facial expression, quirky leading lines in the background, interesting angle. Shots like these only seem to arise by accident, and only if you're open to them. |

Embrace of the Umbrellasby posthumousComment by noraneko: I can't say this necessarily fits the challenge too well, but as a photo in its own merit it is very interesting. (I tend to like photos that push the challenge envelope and probably would have given you a 7 if I'd voted this.) You wouldn't be Don Giovanni, LOL, if you didn't make the viewers think for a moment. |

Embrace of the Umbrellasby posthumousComment by purpleflutterby13: :) That's really nice. Takes you a minute to work out what's happening, and then you go: 'Aah, I see!'.
I can't believe how low this scored actually - the title really works, the composition has a nice harmony to it. and the left umbrella has those nice interesting shapes and sunrays shining through it. Sub-5?! Whatever. |

Art Schoolby posthumousComment by Alicia: In a themed challenge this would have scored a lot higher, I bet. No northern light, big cat or sky for free study - hey. That said - this is an awesome shot. Love the contrasts and the composition - very wonderful.
Regarding candids... I just shoot without shame and so far nobody has protested. The only time I was yelled at was when I took photos of a truck. So try it. Also, if you point your camera at people for a while, they lose interest and start going about their business - et voila! A candid! |
