Prefigurement of Lossby posthumousComment by Charlene: The colors are spectacular and to me, their vivid nature is in stark contrast to her expression, which is... emotive. Lovely feel, great PP. |

Prefigurement of Lossby posthumousComment by krnodil: "The floor was sufficiently blue" would have made for a good title. :) The artist that this work reminds me of is on the tip of my tongue and I just can't get to it - I think this is brilliantly done. A bit fauvist, too, maybe... Love those big blocks of rich color. That you took an ordinary photograph (some would use the slur "snapshot") and thought to turn it into this fantastic study of color and form is stunning. Would expect to see something just like this hanging on a wall at MOMA. |

Prefigurement of Lossby posthumousComment by JuliBoc: I like the simplicity of this. It's interesting that you removed the detail and texture from the woman, while maintaining it in the sofa and rug. |

Prefigurement of Lossby posthumousComment by Melethia: Interesting editing from you - would not have thought this yours. My favorite part (other than what I commented during the challenge) is in the text - "The floor was sufficiently blue." I think there's an entire poem there somewhere. |

roovin on a sunday afternoonby posthumousComment by Melethia: Didn't get a chance to vote this challenge but am completely not understanding the score at all. Not that score is a biggie, but I'm a bit baffled. Meets the challenge quite well, love the composition (nice little "v" that Jayson note) and I happen to have a thing for backlighting so I'm big on that part too. Nice job bringing out just enough details in the guys, and I like the subdued color trick. I've done that a bit lately as well (though by different means.) Nice where appropriate, and in this case, it's appropriate. But I think I will submit you for a DQ for lying in the title.... |
