The Unbearable Lightness of Beingby posthumousComment by jaysonmc: I think dead things are tough for challenges, well at least for voters as some will feel squeamish. I think the bokeh is fine, though I have seen creamier but I doubt the votes notice that. The color palette is marvelous |

roovin on a sunday afternoonby posthumousComment by xianart: perhaps you were punished for the horrendous pun?
a nice image, i like the harsh contrast, it works very well. wonderful echoing lines, repeating and meeting throughout. |

i really like this, and not just because of the title. the overabundance of green in the background with the grey and red, death foreground. it just works. nicely done, don. |

The Unbearable Lightness of Beingby posthumousComment by colorcarnival: Loved the title. Thought it was a sad pic, poor butterfly. I think the tilted background threw me off. I will say that I gave this a 6, and I do think it was influence by the death of the bug that caused me to vote this way. |

The Unbearable Lightness of Beingby posthumousComment by Melethia: It didn't score better because no one particularly likes dead butterflies. Sure, they die, but we like 'em better when they're alive. Besides, they're easier to shoot when they're dead since they aren't flitting all over the place. Nice bokeh, though and a good composition, even with the tilted horizon. |
