cultivating an ideaby posthumousComment by sempermarine: These are the type of images I love to see in these challenges. Very nicely done. A 10 for me. I really hope this does well for you. If I had one of those fancy ribbons you would get it for your creativity!! |

No Place Like Homeby posthumousComment by Melethia: Not quite Borg-like enough. Needs a helluva lot more saturation to truly be Borgnine. Heh. I crack myself up sometimes. Never mind me - I just felt this picture was a tad lonely with so few comments. |

The Edge of Faithby posthumousComment by Melethia: I tried to favorite this again. Didn't work. I really like the comments this has generated - almost as much fun to come back and read them as it is to simply just visit the shot again. |

Flower Bulbby posthumousComment by ambaker: Critique Club Review:
Color, Saturation, and Hue: N/A image is monotone
Brightness and contrast: Highlights are about at the limit in the bright areas (see flower to left of bulb base) shadow holds details well.
Focus and depth of field: Background distractions are nicely minimized, but closest flowers go a bit soft. (see bottom edge of lower right flower.) Maybe one more f-stop would have helped.
Subjective: Meets challenge well. I like the idea, but the lightbulb is centered, a rule of thirds no-no for technical voters. Break the rule only if you have a good reason. I think the bulb just does look a little bit just stuck in there.
I do really like the way you matched the flowers to the bulb. Nice work. At first I thought I would rather have seen this image in color. But as I sit with it a bit, you have won me over and I can see your vision. |

Fuelin' Up My Rideby posthumousComment by colorcarnival: i don't think you need the title for this. Animals are used to trim down some grassy fields around here (instead of lawnmowers). Well, that is what I've seen anyway. Love how the green just reaches out and grabs you. It's so clear - I feel like I'm right there with ya. |
