I've come back to this several times, I can't decide if I like it or not. obviously the goal was an oof somewhat abstract. I fear that many will not rate this high as it is not a clear cut dessert...That being said the original challenge stated "photograph something sweet and delicious" so in a way this dmc. I hope it does well for you.

This is a tough challenge to vote. I'm torn between "what are you trying to do here" and "what do I expect here". Further complicating matters is the question "what would I do here".

What I would expect would be a technically strong piece of eye-candy that would present the dessert in a way that I would want to at least sample it, if not order it. Along these lines I'm looking at technicals: backgrounds, distracting elements, exposure, sharpness. I'm also looking for creativity, imagination, and originality, which can make up for less than perfect technicals.

So, where does this leave me with your image?

I like the image and can appreciate it as art. As for meeting the challenge, well, you know where that is.

I like your choice of subject; Queen Anne's Lace has such nice structure. Looks like the light was interesting, too. But the processing (phone filter, I'm guessing) is kind of cartoonish for my taste.

Indeed it was. :) I think I would have liked this better in landscape, and slightly less yellow. Still, this is a rather nice shot.
