We all leave many roots behind some good some bad hopefully more good...this is an excellent composition and your processing is very pleasing. This is my top pick.

Comment by streetpigeon:
Cropping tight a mountain might yield acres, while to crop tight a mustard seed might only yield, well, something mighty tiny. Here a tree is cropped tight, yielding its roots and a portion of the trunk. So somewhere in the middle, with a sly glimpse of the forest in the upper left. To the extent that the intent of cropping tight may also be to induce people to pay closer attention, I feel that this photo is exhilarating. It's the elaborate profusion of interacting, flowing and seemingly chance dispersal of life that so moves me. Besides wonderful composition, it's the high contrast, silvery processing that draws one in. Such a view is a privilege. So a second personal favorite in this challenge, if that's possible.
