Hey grrl! I didn't comment on this, but I did give it a 5 in voting... I guess it was just the busy factor of the leaves, and maybe the angle was too common? The idea is good, but the visual doesn't quite hit home. Anyway, it's so nice you and Don are playing, I finally have friends to check in on here! Whoop!! :)

I have a very furry cat. On my old camera I had a lot of problems focusing on it. Seems like the blanket has a little bit better focus than your dog.
If you use autofocus it would maybe be better to focus on a non furry spot, like his nose fx. If you are using manual focus it is also good to focus on a thing in the same distance and hold it there moving to your object and then take the picture.
