It was the Salmon Mousse....by skewsmeComment by w24x192: Speaking of the Meaning of Life, read this. It's about 2/3 of the way down, but it's all funny. Oh - your photo. It has a strong graphical quality, but it needs something else and maybe less contrast overall. Good luck. |

joyby skewsmeComment by Melethia: Heh - I like Don's comment. It does have energy, but I don't think it's from the crop; I think it's from your subject, who radiates energy and light. I suspect this wasn't posed but a moment well caught. So young, and already so perfectly color coordinated. I like the single leaf on the sidewalk, too - gives a sense of time which is nice when taking pictures of children - they grow too quickly. |

It was the Salmon Mousse....by skewsmeComment by Photonurd: This says death alright! Can't say much for the ultra contrasty processing, personally. I think it loses a lot photography's inherent "feeling" when it becomes an illustratrative image. |

joyby skewsmeComment by posthumous: I think the only reason this didn't score higher was the crop, which is unfortunate because the crop adds so much energy to the picture. Can't you just feel the electricity created by the subject touching or almost touching the edge of the frame? Some people are made uncomfortable by energy. |

joyby skewsmeComment by bmartuch: This is a really nice shot and I'm surprised that it didn't do a little better. I think that if you used selective desaturation and made everything B&W except the umbrella, this would be really cool. Just my own stupid opinion. |

joyby skewsmeComment by mist: I thought that this image was alright, but I think that the tightness of the crop broke it a little for me. |

crownedby skewsmeComment by Melethia: This would be great for pet portrait - don't you hate when that happens? Sweet shot. I love cats in profile because of the magic in their eyes when shot that way. Well composed with the crowning bokeh and all, but really simply a lovely shot of a pretty cat! |
