light in augustby skewsmeComment by Bruce_the_Robert: Excellent. I love that the grasshopper is not green, that's he's shielded in armor, prepared for any bird that should decide he's its dinner. And he's looking out of the frame, at some good looking grasshopper on that branch that goes out of the frame in lower right. Excellent flow here and a great image. |

light in augustby skewsmeComment by levyj413: My first thought was that the leaf in the lower right is extraneous and distracts from the grasshopper. But now I'm thinking it balances the dark area in the upper left nicely. Either way, the use of darks and lights directs my eye nicely to the grasshopper. |
