skyburbsby skewsmeComment by MacDonald: I like the houses on the hill and the realism the power line looming over them brings to this shot. The verdict is still out on the potential damage these power lines cause to the health of those living below them. I don't if you planned on making that kind of statment but I like it. I also like your pp on the houses, making them kind of glow with surreal colors. The birds in the sky, IMHO, don't add to your composition as they are too close together and just too out of focus. I like the sploches of color of the foilage in the hills. |

skyburbsby skewsmeComment by boyd2000: There is no focal point here. Is it the homes? The birds? The fall foliage? The power lines? Don't try to get so much in one shot. I often try to do that also with poor results. |

joie de jouerby skewsmeComment by pointandshoot: Without the dark stem/vine on the lower left, this would be perfect. Still, the beautiful primaries plus the dancing spider (perfect timing to get that effect) combine to create a work that belongs in a Lewis Carroll novel. |

Rumpelstiltskin gloatsby skewsmeComment by krnodil: Now I get the "neighbor" reference from your comment on my shot - duh, I can be so thick. The processing provides an appropriately maniacal feel to it, good for Rumpelstiltskin's edginess, and I like how you got the back foliage to look fire-like, which also suits the story. |

skyburbsby skewsmeComment by smudgeSMJ: I really like the birds against the sky, but the rest of it is so dark and hard to make out (woods) and the suburbs look strange to me with that lighting/post effect, whether intended or accidental. |

joie de jouerby skewsmeComment by krnodil: Damn - this was the one and only standout for me in this challenge, so I didn't vote - the bulk of the entries were just too depressing. It's weird but when I see this I think "French". :) Really lively, both in coloring and perceived movement; if this doesn't exemplify play I don't know what does. |
