Attack!!!!by harmsusmcComment by Gunnsi: A bit grainy, maybe NeatImage would help.
Are those missiles coming from the helicopter or did they miss it?
Looks like the copter has been hit. Is this smoke because of that or from the missiles? |

This is a great shot (especially for a stock type of photo). It is clear as to what the subject is, the black background really helps to make it jump out aat you. The motion blur in the cards also another great way to show the movement that is happening.
My only possible criticism would be that the light on the thumbs is a little overexposed, after shooting could dodge them a bit to balalnce out the light or while shooting use a greater aperature (higher number)
Over all very well done congrats on your well placed finish!
Keep shooting!

Hanging 'roundby harmsusmcComment by Phil: Greetings from the Critique Club Michael!
The lighting and angle really got you here. In order to get this semi-correct from this view you'd need to - 1 Use the flash to try to bring him out or - 2 Spot meter a dark spot on him and try to burn out the overexposed highs that this would cause. Personally I'd opt for number 1 if another angle that would use the available light isn't an option. As it is, the image is flat and doesn't much give me the feel of him repelling. It actually looks like he is almost out to the side rather than coming down.
Thanks for the opportunity to critique your image Michael.
Cheers -Phil

Built on a Rockby harmsusmcComment by timfythetoo: Greetings from the Critique Club -
I will start off by saying that perosnally I think your subject is great.
Beyond that there are some issues. The cross itself seems a bit out of focus. Its outside edges just arent crisp. And the detail inside is lacking as well. I think some light dodging and burning could have brought out the inside edges to make them more pronounced giving the cross more dimension and interest. Maybe if you had caught it earlier in the day to have the sunlight shining right on the cross would have helped.
The foreground is a bit dark and murky. Either lightening up just the foreground or even cropping most of it out with have given you a better focus on the cross I believe.
The off centered position of the cross works really well and I like the colors and clouds in the sky. With some slight adjustments in time of day and postprocessing I think this shot would have done much better. Keep plugging away, take lots of pics and play with your photoshop and you will be seeing higher scores very quick. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
