Comment by deckyon:
very bland. The subject is great, the lighting isnt. Maybe try the "vivid" setting on the camera, or oversaturate greens and reds.

I agree with Mavrik in that I too am envious of this shot. Great colors, with great interest set by the man walking by. Nice work, you should have received a higher score.

Great colors. Hard to see the focus with it being small because of the constraints, but looks ok. Some symmetry working throughout. I would like to have seen the pictures (front and back) taken at about the same or opposing angles, that may have balanced out the composition a bit more

a unique display. I think most people would have shown the peacock's crest in a close up, but I like how you have turned him around! :0)
sorta "now you see me, now you don't".. nice framing, composition, lines and patterns in the feathers. good for you.

Greetings fromt the Critique Club
Hi Robbie!

Composition
Excellent use of the rule of thirds with your placement of the subject. I love how he's walking INTO the shot, as well. Beautiful.

Color
If color were an issue here, you'd have known it. The only "issue" is that it's the most striking feature of this shot.

Focus
The DoF could have been higher with a smaller aperture. Then the man would have been as in focus as the flowers around him. I think this shot is definitely one I'd have used aperature priority at like f8 or smaller.

Subject matter
You nailed the challenge, ripped a new definition of it - and should have finished higher than you did, despite your amazing score. Your subject(s) were amazing - a rare find.

Overall
This is a beautifully composed and exposed shot. I'm envious of work like this. Perfect work. Good luck on future challenges!

I like the reflection in the water and how the photo kind of tells a story.

My goodness. I have never seen so many flowers in my life. It must be awesome to have so many flowers at the tip of your fingers. :-)
