Yikes. No one wants an axe coming at them. thats for sure. The ligthing is harsh but i think if the overall picture were darker that that blue cast would add a really cool effect.

Better lightning would've helped you a lot.
Faster shutter speed and a bit more focus as well.

With his hands on the steering wheel I would assume that he is driving which makes the harsh lighting coming from above seem very out of place. Maybe if it had been lit from straight on or from the rear as if by headlights it would match better.

Almost worked very well. I say take this image give it a campy 70s horror film feel and you will have a Great Image.

This is interesting. Looks as if taken out of a film or by a security cam thus creating a scary atmosphere. Would be better, if the axe was held in a more realistic angle. No axe-murder would back his hand on a seat while cutting your head off ;)

This is a good concept and a great looking location. The composition is good. In photos, most often the brightest areas tend to draw the eye strongest. In this image the bright sunlight is drawing the attention very strongly away from your subject, I feel. I might suggest in this situation, trying a different time of day, or different weather to get better lighting conditions.

I sort of feel everytime I look at a title in this challenge, if it is not a word that alludes to or implies desolation it is then more the word chosen (in your case wretchedness) than desolation. But in your case I think this image does encompass desolation of a sort. Perhaps the desolation of spirit that you are depciting is diluted too much in the space around the human. Somehow a little closer in with selective inclusion of burned out highlights or whatever would emphasize the desolate feeling.

You did a good job trying to capture a difficult lighting situation, but I think the background is a little too blown out, I may have tried to have the model and foreground alittle darker so the highliights would be alittle less blown out. just a suggestion
