I really don't know Ben's style well enough to draw comparisons so I am just going to comment on your photo to the best of abilities - sorry :(

When I opened your shot to full view I just went wow .. it's quite a feat and technically very well done. The complete opposite of the top of the shot as far as focus goes is amazing and very creative. I imagine you are scoring very high with this one ... Good Luck (but you don't need it)
