To me this shot looks over exposed and grainy.

Comment by LindaLee:
I like the subject, and the color of the shot. The composition feels a little "off" for me, feels like there is a little too much sky. The flower does not appear crisp and sharp, and allowing for the possibility that you intended it this way, or that it was unavoidable, (or that it's my monitor!), I think I would have preferred to see a bit more of a sharper focus on the flower. 8

Wow, that almost look slike something out of a scifi flik... The only problem with the picture is the quality. The Jpeg seems too compressed, or the camera just didn't capture it quite right...

Would have worked better with the pin wheels in motion and the statue still. Almost.

I want to know more about this scene. For the photo itself, I would select one of the objects and make that the prmary subject. As is, it's kinda confusing.

At first I hated this, but the colours really work well against the grey, and the red cloths really give a sense of wierdness afoot. I'd crop the top off a bit, though.

(back again) I havent upped this to a 10 as there are a few minor flaws: The bit at the top, it feels as if the left side has dropped a bit probably cos the statue leans and the weight of the green windmill. On the plus side, there are several points of interest, the colours are just great, it leads the eye around the picture, the subject matter is unusual, the green windmill is the obvious starting place and points to the other major compositional elements, the blurred sten on the blue windmill stops it pointing out of frame.

The pinwheels in the front are really out of focus and distracting. Meets the challenge though. 6 waltoml.

The Critique Club

The clarity and focus of your photo are excellent. The exposure is good and there seem to be no faults in the processing of your picture technically this is a good photo apart from a slight tilt in your cropping

The problem with this image is the composition.

There seems to have been no thought given to how the condiment set should be placed—it seems to be a random placing with the glass somehow in the middle. This appears to have been taken at a mealtime on the spur of the moment—but you must think about your composition. There is a place for random photos—normally taken by geniuses with a huge reputation behind them to back up the photo—but we mere mortals have to think carefully about how we place our objects and what we use as background You could have tried several variations on your theme—should the glass be knocked over and wine spilled out—the salt cellar could be half way behind the pepper—should you be closer or further away --there are hundreds of variations that could turn a random picture into a masterpiece using the same elements. Your technical mastery is v. good - now you should practice your compositional skills and you will soon be beating us all! Although looking at your other photos I think you have a lot of talent—perhaps you werejust having an off day!
