Hey! Don't step into the water.by kenboComment by HBunch: *Critique Club*
This is definately noisy. I think it fits in with the challenge very nicely.
I do think though that something is missing. something to grab my attention and hold it here. I'm not really seeing anything that is too exciting.
The angle and framing/cropping appear to be ok. You captured it so it looks noisy, and I think that had you not taken this from a little 'from above' angle, i don't think it would have worked as well to portray sound.
The overall blurriness is not working for me. I realize that you did it to give the impressin that the water was moving, and it did that well, but I do wish SOMETHING were in focus. Even if it were just the 'sea foam' stuff that were in focus. Anything really. Something to draw our attention to.
I find the little angled streaks near the bottom left to be a bit distracting. They are brighter than the background they are on, and stand out a lot. They look like little stray drops of moving water.
Anyway, good shot for sound.

deskylineby kenboComment by inspzil: This is a nice idea. One of the better photos of the challenge. I like the silhouette of the "flower" but don't really care for this stuff here on the left. I think it might have been a little better with something a little more recognizable. |

carpentryby kenboComment by sagestudio: This doesn't saw "carpentry" to me as much as it says "wood carving". Don't know if there's a magazine for that though. : ) |

carpentryby kenboComment by RiderGal: Personally I do not consider magazines to be in a horizontal shape... thats just me though. Wouldn't carpentry magazine have like houses and hammers and stuff? I'm not familiar with the magazine but having what looks like a religious or authentic piece prolly isn't what one would see on the front of the carpentry magazine... thats just my opinion though and maybe I'm wrong. I don't think you met the challenge here at all... it's basically just a picture of someone elses' art work. Sorry. |
