round and round, the top umbrellaby kenboComment by cpanaioti: *Critique Club*
General: The spinning umbrella depicts motion very well. The shadows generated by the spinning add interest. Unfortunately the colour of the umbrella and the colour of the background are too close and actually clash a bit. Did you try this with different colour backgrounds? White posterboard might have worked very well.
Composition: Good choice in doing this in the portrait (vertical) format. A bit more room on the top and less on the bottom could probably work even better.
Exposure: Exposure seems to be correct. There are no blown out areas nor are there too many dark areas with no detail.
Impact: Some impact is achieved due to the spinning motion of the umbrella but as mentioned already the background detracts from this. A plain, light coloured background would probably add impact.
Good choice for the 'Speed' challenge. Keep shooting.

What are those white stuff and what for?by kenboComment by zeuszen: I believe they're prayers...
Not a 'great' photograph, but an interesting and worthwhile capture, which, IMO, would gain interest with a much shallower dof (redundant info = background blurred, darkened or otherwise rendered unobtrusive) to emphasize the subject.
PS: no plural for 'stuff'. |

What are those white stuff and what for?by kenboComment by heida: Please tell me! I´m going mad! - This stuff is very cool But mabey you could have tried to take the picture from another angle or further away and boost up the contrast a little (or is it mabey my screen seems like almost all the pictures needs more contrast) Anyway Good luck - 7 |

What are those white stuff and what for?by kenboComment by HBunch: I can't really see them well to tell if they are tubes or paper, or cloth. I wonder if we got a closer up shot if it might draw us in a bit more. Maybe make it a little more interesting. Your focus and clarity seem ok, I can get a lot of detail in the bark of the tree to the right, just not ont the subject. I haven't a clue what it is, which does create the mystery here, but would like to still see it a bit closer up. ~Heather~ |
