This definately does fit the challenge. There is a lot of negative space here.

The darkness of the building works nicely against the blue sky. The sky works well as it appears to be a very clear day. I know you used ruled of thirds in your composition but in this case I think if you had centered the point of the roof and kept it to the bottom third it might work very well. As it is I feel like we are missing part of the artifacts on the building.

I do not consider lampshades to be tools, but OK, don't want to be the neisayer either. The colour contrast is nice, but the whole image is out of focus and looks a bit overworked and grainy (but that might be due to the limitation of your camera). May I suggest tripod.

some things i like about this shot, some things i don't. the bug is funny, he/she looks like it is taking in a 'scenic overlook.' i don't think the shot is well balanced, it does not 'flow.' i would like to see it cropped with a horizontal orientation, leaving out much of the sky/clouds. good luck, i give you a 5
