Great job! Very nice photo, although it's something I feel I've seen a million and one times. For what it is though, you did a great job of creating a sense of peace and tranquility, and the use of color is wonderful! It's hard to tell where the 'beach' part comes in, as I feel strongly that a water or shoreline pic does not always signify beach. But since it's dark out in this photo, and it's hard to tell, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and score you a 7 for meeting the challenge, and for technical merit. What knocked you, in my eyes, was lack of originality in comparison with many of the other entries.

That's a remarkably pleasant scene - love the subtle colours and almost perfectly calm water. The upturned boats on the beach make a great counterpoint to those floating and the upturned reflections.
