I'm REALLY love this dof thing and a good use of selective desat. It's like the "sold" dot you see at galleries :-)

This image invites me to look at it longer, which is both good and bad, as I start noticing things, like the extra empty space on the left. I don't think this adds to the image (all the interesting stuff is concentrated in a centralized manner), making me visualize a square crop as being a better choice for this image.

So good. The eyes and tight lips suggest a guarded, almost fearful, demeanor. What I like most about this is the energy. One can feel the years passing over him or pouring out of him. Stories to tell. Or that will never be told.

More formally, I like the vertical lines -- in his shirt, his face and even his hair. Combined with the perfectly shallow DOF, they pull the viewer in.
