the mirror was a good ides, but IMO the angle is wrong and the reflection of the black sheet shows all to clearly.

next time to use this affect try a long exposure with verry dim light so that the sheet does not show but blacks out. i used basicaly the same technique for my paint with light submition sheet, mirror and all. but the light was so focused and dim that it didn't show in the reflection. (the sheet i used was actualy blue also)

you had the right idea and good instinced. give it another shot you don't need much and this would be a really dynamic image.

also shoot from the front of the shoes so the heel and underside arn't so strong in the image. oh and try using glass in place of the mirror its not quite as reflective place it on top of you black cloth and the try you lighting just a desk lamp or somthing, you will be shocked.

this is what im talking about.... although its an early morning shot... the rules for a good selling photo still applies. you have the framing composition going on and the colors of nature there... this is a well applied, and simplified photograph and a well deserve 10 from me
