Agreed! I didn't have a graduated nd filter to use and I couldn't use my two exposures as its using two images. If I'm wrong please someone tell me! It would make a lot of my exposures winners!! Check the difference between this image and the image available for print. |

Yorkshire, United Kingdom by p_johnsComment by p_johns: Hi everyone! Thanks for all your fantastic comments - I think I'm going to need a couple of weeks for my head to return to normal size!!
I have submitted this image to DPC Prints for approval so it should be online shortly if you want to buy any prints, and I've made use of the fact that I can combine more than one image. I've taken the sky from a locked off shot of the same position with a darker exposure and when combined the sky doesn't look quite so 'wierd' as it does in my submission. I've also warmed the picture using Photoshop CS's warming filter. I'd be interested to receive some feedback if you think its better than my submission.
Once again thanks for the ribbon and for the compliments :)
PS You can view other pics of our holiday to Yorkshire at www.pbase.com/p_johns/yorkshire where there's some others I'm really proud of. Message edited by author 2004-09-13 20:16:36. |

Yorkshire, United Kingdom by p_johnsComment by SandyP: Hope we like it ?????????? Are you kidding????? This shot is almost to beautiful to be real! I voted on this challenge, but wasn't able to vote every single picture, so I missed this one. I agree with the comment below. I don't see how this picture could have gotten any vote but 10!!! I can't help but think this print will sell so well because I can envision it so well matted and framed on a wall! Congratulations on your well-deserved 1st place! |

Yorkshire, United Kingdom by p_johnsComment by joanns: O..M..G.... I didn't get a chance to vote so I didn't see this until just now. There are so many elements in the photo that holds one's interest for a long time and each time I look at it, I see something else, like the smoke coming from the chimney on the lower right. You couldn't have chosen a better time of day and the way you composed the shot is alo perfect. I don't understand any vote but 10's on this one. WOW! If this photo of yours doesn't make the viewer want to visit Yorkshire, nothing will. Congratulations! |
