visiting buddiesby crayonComment by kari1: ::: Critique Club :::
Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.
I'm sorry, but without any input from you in technical details or comments, it's just not possible to critique this image.
When we do a critique, we go past just the photographic result, that's what voters comments do. The critique looks at what you were trying to achieve, how you wanted it to look and what issues you had in getting the image captured and ready for voting.
First Impression - the most important one:
Solid shot ..
Composition:
I like the composition of the shot and how it is frames here.
Subject:
meets the challenge.
Technical (Colour and light):
Crisp colours and what seems like a good focus.
To grow its vote?:
Without details on the shot I can't say.
Summary:
You are good at commenting on others shots .. so I was disapointed that you don't include details on your own which help us all to grow through the critque process.
If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.
Cheers

Road through autumnby crayonComment by srdanz: What a fine photo! Haven't voted in this challenge, but I would have easily given this a 7 in the first pass at least. As someone already indicated, the gray road (that has no complementary gray shade readily visible) is taking away from the mainstream flower/water droplet/color setup photo and hence the low scores. The car in the photo is small enough not to offer any details for the observer to enjoy, yet large enough to spoil the photo by taking away the attention from the nice leading lines.
Exposure and focus are dead on, I wish you waited (how long is the question) for all the cars to leave the frame. Deserted road would have inched you up some score-wise I think.
Keep up the good work. Stay out of the box and the voters will come one day... |

Road through autumnby crayonComment by Elaine: Good focus and DOF, but it doesn't really hold my interest. Also, while there are complementary colors they are not as obvious as I think they should be for this challenge. |

white sorrowsby crayonComment by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club....
It's really unfortunate that a lot of photographers don't bother to fill in the "Photographer's Comments" section when they submit a photo to a challenge... especially when they check the box to request an in-depth critique. I have stopped offering in-depth critique on photos when the photographer chooses not to include his/her own thoughts on the image when they submit it... You might want to consider this in the future.
