Yes. The desat, the pose, the composition all speak of a darkness. You have then also added the fear as well as the object. Well done

While I like the way fire photographs the softness of this image hurts it. It probably wouldn't be so bad if the front OR back was in focus but neither really are and it is hard to find a subject to focus on. You captured the flames perfect otherwise. Good luck.
