Framedby KHoltComment by Dave Gordon: Just desserts, framing the frame. How do you rack balls this size in such a small frame? |

Framedby KHoltComment by smurman: there's a lot of spotty lights around each ball. don't know if it's intentional, but clean would look better IMO. |

blackbird.jpgby KHoltComment by LalliSig: This one is allright but nothing I am jumping out of my seat for. Truthfully, if I were voting on it in a challenge, like "birds" or "wildlife" I would just throw a 5 on it, not comment and move on to the next image. Nothing wrong with it though, good focus, exposure and DOF, just not all that interesting to me personally. I like your work and see you can do much better than this but again, this is not bad at all :) |

Baboon6.jpgby KHoltComment by LalliSig: I don´t see anything that implies your screen being off, this seems pretty well exposed and all that so I wouldn´t worry too much. Just next time you vote, take a look at the bar at the bottom, if you can make out both ends of it your screen is pretty ok :)
This is a nice shot but seems a bit flat for my taste, boost up the contrast a bit and voila, excellent shot. Actually not really all that fond of the composition too, a bit centered and think I would have liked this better if you had composed in a portrait mode, cut off the tree trunk and included his tail instead if you catch my drift. |

"Did I hear you say that there must be a catch?"by KHoltComment by fotomann_forever: ::: Greetings from Critique Club :::
Hi, as requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission.
First Impression - the most important one:
Nice action capture. Title works for the challenge.
Composition:
It's decent. The main subjects are in good positions to make them points of interest.
Subject:
Subject is clearly the man trying to make the catch. So you defined him well.
Technical (Color, focus, and light):
All excellent.
To grow its vote?:
Convince DPC voters that not all good photography has to be over-processed and dramaticly grungy :-)
Summary:
I really like your shot. Nice entry for this challenge.
Hope to see more from you soon,
Leroy |
