I'm not sure I'm crazy about the negative space simply as a photograph, but I can sure see this with some text - an invitation or something - with the rose acting as a bottom boreder. Very good detail and color in the rose. I do like the "clean" feel of the shot.

This is a cool idea. I would have liked to have seen the levels played with a little more to darken the lines of the print and bring out the pattern a little more.

In my opinion, the snow covered rocks make this shot. The texture and lighting on them and great exposure on the snow add jus the interest this scene needed. The whole scene just screams "crisp and cold." Very pretty, clear and cool tones.

A unique view of this landmark. The lightposts, of course, almost take over - but it works. The b/w treatment is flawless. It's less a portrait of the Louvre as it is a complete scene which incorporates it and it works beautifully.

I really like the crop / composition on this one, plus the shading and the colors. It really draws your eye around the curve of the petals. It's not quite close enough to be abstract but has great form to it, like an abstract. Good clarity as well. I ilke how the center of the bloom is off center here as well. I'll be it makes a beautiful print.

I was really surprised this didn't come in higher - I think it lovely. Have you tried it with a white border rather than the heavy black one - I feel it may compliment the photo better.

224th?! Are the voters crazy? This is lovely, in fact, one of my 10's from the challenge! The small path leading you in, the splashes of color, the freshness and simplicity of the shot are all just perfect. I could sit in the spot you took this from for hours! I'm so glad you were able to get out for a while on such a beautiful day, and hopefully this photo can be a reminder of the good days when you're feeling down. In fact, I think I'll put it in my favorites so that it can cheer me up on those gray days. :)
