This is a great shot talj, the motion of the ferry or ship really lends to the "Ferry across the Mersey".
I live near water and I'm always trying to use it in pictures, got any more?

I believe the intention of the challenge was to take a b&w photo in color mode. This is why desaturation was discouraged. To make it more challenging. I don't think the challenge was to shoot a color photo with b&W in it. It may be a suttle difference in interpretation.

Hi T, its your nemesis here!

Your composition (as always) is very good and the title apt. I'd like to see all of the leaves in the shot and even though my eyes are getting bad I think it could be a little sharper? A nice deep black bg that leaves (intended) the viewer to concentrate on the subject.
Judy is right, this would have been a nice take on 'Zen'

WOW - this would work for Zen, no?? I love it's minimalism. Beautiful detail. Nothing beats a greatly lit subject against a black background. I like that the entire flower is in focus. It works well. The curve of it adds a fluidity to it as well.
