"A rose is a rose is a rose"by taljComment by aimeethetoo: I agree with Rina on all accounts except her opinion of the negative space. I am a negative space junkie and I like how you used it here. Nice job! Almost looks like a painting. |

"A rose is a rose is a rose"by taljComment by silverfoxx: :) explaining my weird comment:
this quote from Gertrude Stein has a special meaning to postmodernists. since I am very much into postmodern I have been thinking about this frase a lot.
postmodernists took that frase and "shifted" it's meaning from "the things are what they are" to "the things repete themselves endlessly and without any meaning". I just tried to use this second postmodern meaning and apply it to a photo (a photo in general, not this particular one).
:) sorry for a long comment but you asked to explain. I like the photo. |

"A rose is a rose is a rose"by taljComment by rinac: Wow... some of your comments are brutal!! Ok, here's my take: a) I can see perfectly that it is a yellow rose; b) I didn't mind the brightness and understood that it must have been your intention (light on white, duh); c) I liked the tight vertical crop, but; d) I thought there was just a smidge too much negative space.
Another shot I think is underrated. The voters are a funny bunch sometimes. |

Hope you are off those crutches soon, dear friend..... |
