Pitcher Plantby sherpetComment by levyj413: I like the pitcher plant itself very much. Nice focus, amazing textures, and perfect DOF. I suspect the details on the "hairs" on the right are suffering from the small file and screen size.
Could you tone down the background a bit? It looks too saturated and competes with the subject. |

Stardomby sherpetComment by talj: The colours are really amazing in this shot and the detail combined with such a nice composition make this a very pleasing shot :) |

Pitcher Plantby sherpetComment by BlueZamia: The pitcher plant is beautiful, great tones and details, The background leaves are a little harsh for me.
I wish carnivorous plants grew in Minnesota. |

Pitcher Plantby sherpetComment by sherpet: I see exactly what I want, when I first see the object that I am photographing. I then use my Canon, set in the "raw" format on "P", and either use my normal lens, or my macro lens, re this shot.
Nothing else, but I do color the image when processing it in the "raw" propram.....
I also play around in ps, to get what I am looking for. As yet, I don't work with any filters, and have no knowledge of them. I am still trying to learn ps, anf also my camera. I do love color.....

The colors are strong and the detail is great, but most of your shots have a slight painting like feel to them that really make them stand out. Are you using a PS filter in your PP? My attempts at your style fall flat in comparison. Cool shotr by the way. Almost intense. |
