white bg does not seem to be the best for the intended dramatic mood. besides I think a real "WHAT!?!" produces some additional tension this shot does not show. I would try putting the camera a bit lower to have a better perspective of the hands, forming a triangle with the face, but that is just my opinnion.. what do I know?

Yes, yes, yes. I love the simplicity, and I love the way it seems to taunt the viewerw with only a glimpse. The desaturation works, and the shadows are cool.

Nothing I can think of would make this a better photo for me, you did an absolutely stunning job.
