Just a Guy & His Kayak in a Swampby PhocalComment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
An appealing image that meets the challenge well
It looks a very tranquil setting, leaves me quite envious. I am impressed with the way you have taken the shot that there is minimal distortion with such a phenomenally wide angle lens, its only evident in the reflections which are much less obvious, well done it works well. |

Jawsby PhocalComment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
An interesting image that contributes to the open challenge.
These ‘gators are never gonna be hungry are they! Another great action shot Ronnie, you wanna be careful, if you get much closer you or your camera or both could end up alongside the poor old red eared slider, heaven forbid! Probably not your best image in this series but certainly another very competent image, well done. |

An appealing image that contributes well to the open study challenge
A great image Ronnie, the concept and execution is original and effective. I like the use of the diagonal for the 'gator it makes for a more dynamic result. The minimal profile of the animal is sufficient to recognise what it is but too little to dominate it makes for a very effective slice and a strong focal point. I like it a lot, well done Ronnie |

Don't Center Your Subjectby PhocalComment by sidpixel: Hello from the critique club
An interesting image that meets the challenge
Oh, is that poor animal still going through that nightmare? Well you certainly managed to get up close and personal during this encounter didn't youâ€Â¦? Your title suggests the way in which you intended to fulfil the challenge brief though I have to agree with some of your commenters perhaps overexposure may have been more appropriate. As such, I have to assume your overexposure was unintentional and whilst it gives good detail of the poor turtle the rest of the image has suffered as a result. Although this is still an amazing image your other is the piece de resistance. |
