Dandelion Teaby NuzzerComment by Perfect-Calamity: I really like the colors used in this photograph. It could be a little clearer, but the bright yellow to the dandelion makes up for that, it just pops out from the background and makes the photo very pleasing to the eye. Nice job. |

Harbour Lifeby NuzzerComment by posthumous: Welcome to Your Tit-for-tat Critique Club Critique!
The gods have given me my opportunity for revenge! ;)
Firstly, I have to be honest with you. I only gave you a 5. The good news is that most skylines get a 4 from me because I find them boring. Yours got an extra point for the exciting motion of light in the water. In fact, if I had looked at this picture more carefully, I probably would have given it a 6.
Technically, you are past my level, so I have no fixes for this. The horizon is straight enough, the exposure is good, the focus is good, you managed to keep still for 25 seconds. You seem aware of the inherent boringness of cityscapes, so you captured the motion on the bottom and emphasized the tower on the top. Good thinking. I wonder if that helicopter would have added interest? Or if you could have emphasized the stars? The more the merrier for a shot like this. maybe a tighter crop would have worked nicely, as someone else suggested. |
