tamron cap at padley gorgeby alpharichComment by amandalore: nice, I like the composition and the sharp focus. maybe a more vibrancy in the colors could help this photo, but overall I really like the setup and the sharp foreground and motion blurred background |

IMG_4838.JPGby alpharichComment by JunieMoon: I love the toning of the pool of water on this one. That lovely burgundy bottom reminds me of a place in my state called Chatfield Hollow. Something about the color of the sand makes it have that unique color. |

IMG_4838.JPGby alpharichComment by PHOTOKID: Nicey composed, very sharp. I like how the moss on the rock is in focus as well. Good use of time elasping on the water. Would possible have done well in a water open challenge. Good Shot.
Thanks for sharing.

Body found in swampby alpharichComment by Bolti: Greetings from the Critique Club!
For being a photojournalist picture I don't think this one actually quallifies. Mostly becouse a editor would never post a picture of a dead hand in the paper. Atleast not here in iceland. :)
But appart from that I think Fotoman_Forever actually covered the whole problem with the pic under this. Some contrast would make this picture better and even a different framing.
So hopefully I helped you out with this.
Have a nice day |

cash cowby alpharichComment by JunieMoon: Need more contrast and perhaps a white balance reading before you shoot the image to get better color. |

Body found in swampby alpharichComment by fotomann_forever: You said you got a lot of comments about being grey, and I have to agree with them. You definitely need to bump up the congrast in this image. I probably would have preferred it in color though. As far as the dead/not dead thing goes: I like the idea, but it's just not convincing.
Other aspects of the image:
Composition is not terribly interesting. I think you were trying to run this image on "shock value" and ignored other things that make a photo good.
Technicals such as lighting and focus are good, but easy to overlook.
All-in-all, I do believe that "faking" the scene hit ya the hardest though. |
