Nice shot. I just started taking some macro shots and am getting better. This fly sat still enough for me to snap about 20 shots. 1 or 2 came out right. With a little PS I got this result.

CalliopeKel--Thanks for your comments. Yes, I used the onboard flash, which is MILES ahead of the one I had on my Nikon 5700. The bathroom is quite bright, too, so I backed up a bit and zoomed in. I figured that wouldn't wash out his face in light, and it worked pretty well.
The Rebel is absolutely awesome--I love it. I feel like I've been driving a Toyota all my life, and now I'm sitting behind the wheel of a Porche! I made this shot in auto mode, but I've been messing with the manual settings, and will be using those features a lot too.

Congrats on the new rebel. You will love it. Keeps producing one amazing pic after another for me. Did you use the onboard flash on this shot? If you did, it wasn't overpowering.

Have you shot in Manual mode yet or you still playing with automatic settings?
