Spy Kittiezby magnetic9999Comment by joshua: this is my first critique club critique, don't kill me mag! haha
Composition:
I think this is probably the main reason that the photo didn't do better than it did. The background gives the impression that maybe this pick was thrown together at the last second. The calendar isn't even with the lens and is tilted a bit. Some commenters suggested a tighter crop, but i don't think that is the problem. Perhaps just a solid colored background and a level calendar would have been better. A tighter crop on the bottom of the photo would have also helped.

Technical:
Nothing too spectacular going on here. Everything is clear as it should be. Focus is a tad sharp but that doesn't take away from the photo. DOF is good as you can clearly see the eyes and the cat's face.
My Opinion:
This is a very cute photo, and a very good idea. It brings about positive emotions and happiness. Clearing up the problems with composition would greatly improve the photo's impact. Message edited by author 2003-02-17 12:55:01. |

Beyond the Pailby magnetic9999Comment by Digipixer: I don't think the pails are needed in this pix----unless you had a third one that would nest inside the others. The colored stones have a natural rhythm. |

Twilight of Idolsby magnetic9999Comment by jenarom: This is an excellent picture! It is one of my two favorites of the challenge. The perspective is great, and the subject is beautiful. Light and shadows are very nice. What I like the most is the color tonality. Good luck in winning the challenge! |
