I like the idea of this shot, but originally, my attention was drawn to the center of the shot. Perhaps that's because there is so much darkness in the wood right there. I think that if the right of the key would have been darkened, and the left of the frame (which contains the board with the key, handle, etc) would have been as bright as it currently is, it would have drawn my attention better.
Perhaps blurring the right boards as well would have improved the focus point, which should be the key.
Overall, I think this is a good shot, but with a few adjustments, it could be even better.
Just some suggestions to take into consideration (if you want).

Sorry to say, but I don't think this fits the challenge very well. Yeah, this one object stands on its own, but it isn't alone (with all the other walls around it). Cool image and post-processing though.
