two weeks laterby jonathansComment by jonathans: the story behind the photograph: layne stayley (alice in chains) died of a heroin overdose recently, and was found on the floor of his apartment.. two weeks later. one can only imagine the stench. i practically dislocated my shoulder taking this shot. it was backlit with a lamp that was sitting on my computer chair. and yes. that's my computer on the right. i focused with the foor i think. i wanted it fuzzy and washed out.. ive done some drugs but i can only guess at what heroin must feel like. > Looks like a Hitchcock angle...? i wish i was as cool as hitchcock. apparently the only person that got the title right off the bat was ryan. |

two weeks laterby jonathansComment by hokie: This photo started out in the middle of the pack with a 5 or 6 becasue it was a bit washed out. As the week wore on I moved the photo up and up. Originality, well photographed (needs a touch more contrast to the dop) moved this photo into my top 10. Nice job! |

two weeks laterby jonathansComment by Patella: I'm very curious to find out what YOUR version of the "story" is behind the shot and title. I know what I've come up with, but I'll be interested to see if they match. Technically, I think this is a little over-exposed. I think I would have darkened things up a little bit -- make the whites not quite so washed out and the blacks a little darker. HOWEVER, with my version of the story, even having it a little messed up exposure-wise works, so.... |
