Trying to break the confederate line.by cowboy221977Comment by Edward Main: Colors seem a bit flat for an advanced editing challenge. I found that making a few slight changes using curves and levels really helped me in this area. I live on the Mason Dixon Line, so I really like the subject. Good luck. |

You can make it to the top!!!!!by cowboy221977Comment by kaiser_chief: A little plain and uninteresting for this challenge. A title could have been included, a different angle, some better lighting all could have made this into a much better submission. As it is, it is quite boring.......... |

Hattiesburg train stationby cowboy221977Comment by bobnospum: The centered composition makes it kind of static, try looking for other angles. The red brick roof is kind of interesting, perhaps using more of the roof would add interest. Also you should watch your horizon, which while not visable here, but seems to be off as the tower seems to be leaning left.
The border is really wide and takes my eye away from the photo. The best borders are so complimentaty to the photo that you do not notice them.
Here is my tower, while we are all comparing them (it has its own problems).

Hattiesburg train stationby cowboy221977Comment by MelonMusketeer: I notice that it is I minutes after X, which seems a little odd. : )
It's just not that exciting of a subject is possibly the problem. I would have tried to compose with more in the shot, perhaps a wider view, maybe same focal length and further back, so that the top of the clock tower would show in the shot, to help the tower look complete.
Here is a recent one of the local tower which is similar, but has more in it for interest, and shot at a different time of day.
