What are you trying to communicate with this photo? Is there a special mood or feeling here? It looks like a snapshot... did you deliberatly place the horizon in your shot? There's a lot of featureless sky in the shot... was this deliberate? The photographer's head is hunched down so you don't really see it... was this deliberate? We get to see only one leg of the tripod... did you want that?

A shot like this is best taken at either sunrise or sunset. The colors of the canyon are not as washed out when the sun is at a lower angel. (I had this very problem on my vacation...great beautiful places in the middle of the day do not take good photos.)
