Contemplatingby hutch699Comment by SandyP: This is just amazing! Again, the only thing to me that keeps this from being a "Librodo" type portrait is that I think it needs more light so the shutter could be faster, and make it a little less soft. It's such a beautiful composition! Your family is fantastic at modelling! |

Sleep Sweetyby hutch699Comment by SandyP: This is so beautiful!!!! I wish there was a tiny bit more light, but its still very emotive -- a photo that will be special and treasured forever. Timeless. |

Dont-Jump!.jpgby hutch699Comment by SandyP: This is awesome. I can see why she likes it so much. The only thing I would have done differently is to crop it so that she wasn't quite so centered. maybe a little more space on the left -- and a little less on the right. I've read a lot of dpc comments and notice the voters are pretty picky about that rule of thirds thing, and the un-centered composition. But I love the candid, unposed look of this. It does look like she's on a big cliff :) |

Oblivious Playby hutch699Comment by SandyP: This is just beautiful. Candid, simple. I am one who loves the close crops -- cropped down just enough to say what you want to say. This is nice and sharp, crisp colors. I think its a real winner!

Innocent Teddyby hutch699Comment by SandyP: But the composition on this is awesome! And the beautiful little model looks so comfortable in front of the camera -- which I'm sure is a tribute to you. I missed voting on this one in the challenge, but I promise you I would have voted it higher than 4!

Deceptionby hutch699Comment by ShutterPug: ** Greetings from the Critique Club **
My first take on this was of a man who had just commited adultery. But then why would his ring be on the dresser and not hidden away in his pocket? Then I thought perhaps the deception was that the wife who had "everything" engraved inside his wedding band was now realizing it was over as he was dressing to leave her. Can be taken several ways.
No matter how it is taken - the image is powerful and emotes a ,.lot of feeelings. I like that in a photo. The mystery of which meaning it has makes it even better.
Excellent DOF and composition. The blown highlights on the wedding band are the only negative here. Keep up the good shooting and creative thinking.

Creek Bridge BWby hutch699Comment by Germaine: I think this picture has potential, but right now, it's gray, not black and white. To my eye, you have to bump up the contrast and get some real blacks and real whites in there. Good luck. |
