the movemnet of the snow and the icey blue in the background really gives the picture a wintery feel.
I'm not that keen on the bird being dead center, but it's not photo, so just ignore me :-)

Ohmy! This is another one that is so beautiful. When I first saw the thumbnail, I thought, "Oh I love simple photos of tree trunks", but then when you open it, it is anything but just a simple tree trunk photo. You are so incredible at capturing snow so sharp and crisply. And the bird -- just the touch to turn it from a wow picture -- to a SUPER WOW!! picture :)

The snow in the air and blue going into the forest behind help to make this a very cold looking scene. Just the right DOF for the subject to stand out, and to have some of the limbs near it also in focus. I wonder at the way these little creatures have adapted so that they can survive the cold and snow thru the winter.
