Wise Monkeys Plus Oneby gerardComment by Lustre: Nice colours, nice poses. The only distracting element is the shadow (especially on the white background), although you still get a good score from me. |

COMPOSITION- Great idea for the motion challenge. This is cropped great and I like how the Metronome is angled a little and not looking straight on. It gives it a 3 dimensional feel instead of being flat.
BACKGROUND- Background is a little cluttered. It would have had more of an effect with a solid background.
TECHNICAL- You did great in choosing the Aperature and Shutter speed. You aren't overexposed and the blur is great.
MY OPINION- This was a good shot for the theme of the challenge. The flower on the wall is a little distracting to the rest of the shot. I like it. |

Left out, feeling Blueby gerardComment by zadore: ...from Critique Club...
Hi Gerard
FIRST IMPRESSION:
Cool...looks liquid. :)
COMPOSITION:
I think the composition could be a bit better. There is so much going on on the photo, that it's hard to focus on one thing only. Eliminating some elements, or shooting at a different angle could help. :|
TECHNICAL:
Pretty good. I think a bit more DOF could help...especially for those who don't quite know what they're looking at. Focus on the front 'ball' is good, and I guess that is what you wanted. I guess you used whatever lighting was available, the problem, I find is that it reflects quite a bit off the glass. :(
ARTISTIC:
Awesome. I think you picked out a very interesting subject whose physical properties make it almost liquid like. I love the shapes and sofness of the shot. :)
OVERALL:
I would love to have one of these so I could shoot a ton of shots. I think you would be suprised at the potential of this subject...especially using the colors you have chosen for this one.
Cheers. |

Timing Motionby gerardComment by sylandrix: Nice composition, like the monotone-look of the image. Something's casting a shadow on the right that doesn't need to be there, but a very minor gripe. |

Timing Motionby gerardComment by kosmikkreeper: Neet idea... the background distracts the eye from the motion though. A dark solid backgroud might have helped keep the attention on the needle. 6 |

Timing Motionby gerardComment by Journey: The motion of the metronome is interesting. Like the overall brown color scheme in this image. The painting/reproduction in the background, although interesting by itself, clutters the image. Likewise, somewhat, on the rounded edge of the table or desk. This would have been so much more interesting in a spartan setup. Metronome: cool (damn, i like the texture of the wood! and the clarity of the logo); motion: cool; background clutter: uncool.
