I like this composition because it's different, but feel the top may be bit too overexposed - more contrast between the sky and the top of the building would have made a larger visual impact.

Weird, don't know what to make of this one. Not much yellow, and hard to tell what it is (or isn't).

i don't think the boats or the sunset were cooperating very well - it would be awesome another day, but not this day . . .

A great idea and interesting composition, but it seems to lack a bit of clarity. I see that the image is about 72K... which is only about half of what DPC allows -- you might try saving it at a lower .jpg compression. The bottom part of the shot seems just a tad dark.

Comment by PTLParsons:
Not sure I know what a "bootblack" is. Is that someone that polishes other peoples shoes? Is he your Waldo? In other words, your title could be "Where's Waldo the bootblack?" If that's the case I see him and you did a good job and made a nice photo too. If I'm correct this is a nice twist to this. I like it.

I really, REALLY like the composition of this. It's a great photo of street life that captures a real mood. It's kind of soft (did you try sharpening it?) and the colours are muted. But on the whole I like it a lot. It's just very, very well framed and well composed.

Hello from the Critique Club!

Nice seasonal cliche picture of a child :) It's very cute.

Technical stuff:
The snow is a bit over exposed, as if there was a bright light shining on it: I think I'll blame the sun! Somebody mentioned that there was no snow behind the child! Well, it looks like a wall to me, so I don't know any snow that sticks to walls.... The colours are good, and so is the lighting.. I think what got you was the super white snow. Did you try compensating for the white with your camera if it has those features?

The composition is ok, in my eyes, and it just looks a bit like a snap shot, and as far as it goes for snapshots, it's one of the best ones! The child is cute, and looks to be having fun. It may have had more effect if the snow man was more complete :)
Good luck in future challenges!

intresting view, looks like the tiny streets in germany or france. LOL
I think this shot could use a little color adjustment, would have liked to see more contrast...everything is a little washed out.

Comment by Swashbuckler:
Good perspective shot (street seems VERY long and NARROW). Focus seems just a little weak and the color needs more saturation (the sky is blown out, but it's not a significant part of the photo, nor is it likely that you could have done much about that!) 7 Swash
