The technicals: Lighting is harsh, which is usual for a brightly lit snow day. Composition isn't too bad.

The feel: although you capture a decent DOF, I'm not sure what the background people are adding to the shot. In fact, they serve as a distraction to pull our eye away from the subject. The usual purpose of a shallow DOF is to make the subject stand out. The people work counter to this.

The game: I think the picture is a victim of the lighting and the "snapshot" feel. The background is to blame for this.

On a scale of 0-2 in five different categories: Image quality - .5 (the tree in the middleground seems out of focus. I'd like to see everything sharp in this shot). Composition - 1. Lighting - 1. Post Processing - .5 (I think you hurt the image using black and white on this one. I'd like to see it in color). Choice of Subject - .5. TOTAL SCORE - 4

Interesting contrast in shapes, the image appears to be a little to light, try using a filter.
